Bush Break – Mabalingwe Game Reserve
When considering a Safari or a quick Bush Break in South Africa a lot of people immediately think of the Kruger National Park. But in fact, there is a vast majority of places you can go on a Safari in all of South Africa’s nine Provinces. Numerous other locations in the Limpopo Province that have affordable options for a weekend getaway, one such place is the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve.
Some of the camp you will find, are Ingwe, Kwalata, Phiri and Kubu, each having the capacity to accommodate 4 or 6 Sleeper Units. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen with all electrical appliances, as well as bathrooms. On one end of the Reserve lies a caravan park with bathroom facilities.
Things to do
Each day there is an option of game drives in open game drive vehicles and these are available, every morning and night but bookings for these are essential. In an addition to that, there is a bird watching drive, a guided trail walk, where you can learn a lot about the benefits and medical uses of the plants and trees in the area. If you have your own suitable vehicle you can also drive through the reserve any time.
If you love swimming you can choose from any of the swimming pools on the premises, one which is heated seemingly the most popular. Additional sources of entertainment are activities like Tennis, Mini Golf, and Squash, as well as a variety of entertainment for Children.
Mabalingwe is located on R516 Rooiberg/Thabazimbi Road, in Bela Bela a town 38 kilometers from Mablingwe.
